  • Authenticate users, secure accounts, and prevent unauthorized access.

Customer data vs account data

Datyra account data relates to users who register for or administer the platform (for example, login credentials and workspace settings).

Customer data is information that our business customers upload or generate through the platform, such as contact lists, message content, and campaign audiences. In most cases, our customers act as the data controller for customer data, and Datyra acts as a processor or service provider processing that data on their instructions and in accordance with applicable agreements.

If you received a message through a customer using Datyra, please contact that organization directly for questions about how your data is used. We may assist with lawful requests directed to the relevant customer where appropriate.

Processors and sub-processors

We use trusted third parties to help deliver our services. These may include:

  • Cloud infrastructure and hosting providers
  • Payment and billing providers
  • Email, SMS, and WhatsApp delivery providers
  • Analytics, monitoring, and security tools

These parties process personal information only as needed to perform services on our behalf and are subject to contractual confidentiality and security obligations.

WhatsApp and Meta

When customers connect the WhatsApp Business Platform or related Meta integrations, Datyra may process WhatsApp message metadata, phone numbers, approved templates, delivery statuses, inbound replies, and webhook events necessary to operate the integration.

Datyra does not sell WhatsApp user data. Processing is limited to providing the service, security, compliance, and support for connected customers, consistent with applicable Meta and WhatsApp policies.

Some data may also be processed by Meta or other messaging providers under their own terms and privacy policies.

Legal bases

Where applicable under laws such as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) or the GDPR for individuals in the EEA/UK, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract with you or your organization
  • Legitimate interests in operating and securing our platform
  • Compliance with legal obligations
  • Consent, where required (for example, certain marketing cookies)

Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, resolve disputes, and comply with legal, tax, fraud prevention, billing, and security requirements.

Retention periods may vary by data type and customer configuration. Customers may request deletion subject to our Data Deletion Instructions and applicable law.

Security

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption in transit, monitoring, and secure handling of provider credentials. See our Security page for more detail.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please use strong passwords and enable available security features for your account.
